SpookWalk
Charles City Halloween tradition returns Oct. 27th
Prepare to travel back in time on Monday, October 27th, as Main Street Charles City celebrates 30 years of Halloween Spookwalks with a “Spookwalk Time Machine.”
Since 1996 costume-clad children and their families have enjoying a frighteningly good time walking along the riverfront trail and visiting the different decorated treat stations put on by various businesses and organizations in town. This free, family-friendly event has become a Charles City tradition, and is geared toward children through sixth grade. Be sure to bring a bag for your treats, as well as a camera as this event is bound to create lasting memories for the entire family!
Lineup for Spookwalk will take place on the trail behind the Charles City Public Library and First Baptist Church. The general public can go through between 4:30-6:30 p.m., with an early bird walkthrough at 4 p.m. for kiddos who have special/sensory needs or may struggle with large crowds. You must call the Main Street Charles City office to pre-register for this; no early entry will be allowed that night without pre-registration, which will become available starting on Monday. Oct. 6th.
If your business or organization would like to participate by having a booth at this year’s Spookwalk event, please call (641) 228-2335 or email info@charlescitychamber.com for more information. While the time machine and 1996 theme is recommended, booths are free to decorate as they wish. There will be a booth judging at 4 p.m.
In case of inclement weather, the rain date will be Wednesday, Oct. 29th. Watch Facebook at Charles City Chamber & Tourism for updates.
