Central Preschool, the oldest preschool in Iowa, is seeking an Assistant to start in August 2022. Central Preschool is an autonomous preschool that is comprised of a Lead 3-Year-Old Teacher/Co-Director and a Lead 4-Year-Old Teacher/Co-Director. Central Preschool follows the GOLD curriculum. The Assistant is responsible for working with students, ages 3-4. Must be energetic, confident, dependable, responsible, innovative, have an excellent rapport with children, and inspire a love for learning.

Assistant Responsibilities:

• observe, guide, supervise, and assess children while they learn in the classroom environment
• create and maintain a safe, clean, stimulating classroom where all children feel safe and valued
• build relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and community members based on trust
• set an excellent example for students instilling honesty, understanding, respect, love, and kindness
• help keep order in the classroom, assist with daily activities, and help keep the clean the classroom

Assistant Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED or higher

• Schedule: 3-Year-Old Class - Monday, Wednesday, & Friday Mornings 7:45 AM – 11:45 AM
• Flexible schedule
• Reports to the Board of Directors
