MISSION PROGRAM WITH JANE AND LARRY KIES

Jane and Larry Kies will present a program at Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City on their work as agricultural and educational missionaries at Africa University in Mutare, Zimbabwe on Tuesday, June 21st at 7 P:M. Africa U has an international faculty with 1200 students from 36 African countries. Instruction is in English and for the past 22 years, Jane has taught English as a second language to non-English speakers. Larry is an Iowa native and ISU graduate. He has taught agriculture courses, trained Extension Field Officers, and managed the school farm which provides practical, hands-on experiences and also produce for the school cafeteria and for sale. Africa U has provided quality education since 1992 in spite of the economic and political difficulties of many African countries and the recent COVID situation. The Kies and Africa U have received support from TUMC and many Methodist churches for many years. The Kies program is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be collected to support the Kies.
